Welcome!

This web site is designed to provide you information about Motivational Interviewing Training and Coaching.

Motivational Interviewing Training

Motivational Interviewing is "a collaborative conversation style for strengthening a person's own motivation and commitment to change".  p. 12, Motivational Interviewing: Helping People Change, 3rd Edition.

Gary has been training staff serving a number of different populations in Motivational Interviewing since about 2000.  He has been trained in the Training New Trainers (TNT) in 2006 and is a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT)  He has trained with a number of agencies and programs across the country.  He offers variable length trainings designed to meet a particular program or agency's needs.  The training covers the Spirit of MI, the four processes and the microskills associated with MI.   The schedule includes presentations, demonstrations, videos and practice.

If you or your agency are interested in arranging a training (personal, small group or large group), please email me at stofle@aol.com or call (614) 506-2802 anytime and leave a message.

Workshops have also been designed for allied health professionals who don't already have a counseling background. If you are a doctor, nurse practitioner, dietician or allied health professional, and it is your desire to help your clients change behavior but have encountered difficulties doing so, Motivational Interviewing adapted for allied professionals might be exactly what you need.
